Tell Congress: Don't Let Families Go Hungry During Disasters

When a disaster hits, an entire community may not know where their next meal is coming from. That's where Feeding America comes in. From Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy to Hurricane Matthew, Feeding America has been able to provide food relief to families during their greatest times of need.

With the recent flooding disaster in Louisiana and the flooding caused by Hurricane Matthew in North Carolina and other southeastern states, communities need access to fresh, nutritious foods more than ever. The Emergency Food Assistance Program, or TEFAP, is a critical part of our efforts to relieve hunger year-round and becomes vital during emergencies. However, when a disaster hits, our food banks need additional food to help disaster-impacted communities, and we need Congress to provide us the additional funds needed for emergency relief food.

Tell Congress to include funds to ensure food banks in disaster-impacted areas can provide enough emergency food distributions to help families in need recover.

When a disaster hits, all Americans need to come together to ensure that our communities get the support they need. Feeding America is proud of our work making sure that no one goes hungry as a community is rebuilding. But we can't do it without your help.

Take action today and tell Congress to help us prevent families from going hungry during disasters.
