Trump Administration admits new rule would take away school lunch from nearly 1 million kids

The Trump Administration just released shocking new data on their plan to take away SNAP benefits from children, seniors, and hardworking Americans. Their initial estimate drastically undercounted the number of people who could be denied food.

The latest admission, by USDA's own analysis: nearly 1 MILLION children will lose their school meals. This is in addition to the 3 million people who they'd already admitted will lose access to food assistance.

The new data means they will accept comments for 14 more days – until November 1. Your personal comment to the note below is required to make sure the Trump Administration reviews it – they must read and record every unique comment they receive. Please tell them why you oppose this rule!

Dear Secretary Perdue,

I am writing to oppose the proposed rule that guts the Broad-Based Categorical Eligibility option in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The proposal would take away school meals from nearly 1 million children, hurt seniors and families who save for the future, and punish workers for getting a raise. We should not punish children trying to thrive in the classroom or penalize people who work hard to take care of their families.
